Why do I feel uneasy when I'm doing nothing?
On "being", and not just "doing".
We are meant to be human beings, not humans "doing".
But unfortunately for many of us, we were made to feel our worth was solely based on what we could do.
Since from young when we got a lower grade compared to someone else, we were told we should've done "better".
That too much idle, hobbying or playing time meant we were not doing "enough".
That the amount of love and care we got was tied to how much we met expectations.
And that going to a lousy school and a mediocre job meant we were a disappointment.
As such, during the times we are not doing as much, we can't help but shake off this feeling, this feeling that we are a burden.
What if we were taught that what we did, in terms of studies and work, was only just a part of who we are instead?
That money and achievements may be important, but more than that was to create a life worth pursuing.
Because getting to the end of life with the most money, the best job, and the most things and medals doesn't mean we "won".
For we are all on our own journeys aren't we?
And getting to the end of life knowing that we "lived", now that's truly winning.
So what does "living" really mean to you?
Have a think and then go on.
Be that person for no one else but you.
And if that's sitting around doing nothing on this rainy day, doing nothing other reading a book, drinking tea or resting away...
Know that's that okay.
From now on, you decide how you want to be.
And that no matter what you choose to do, you are and have always been worthy.
Human beings alright? Not humans doing.
Take care,
Hernping
